So we decided to take a little walk to our post box. (Ostensibly, the trip was to allow Kathleen to return her "Sherluck Holmes" Veggie Tales movie to Netflix. Honestly, it was to preserve Mama's sanity.) It's only a few blocks, but everyone was happy to be out of the house.The chance to use umbrellas was the real high point, though.

Who'd have thought half an hour in the rain could make little girls so happy?!
On our walk home, we talked about the rain and about the One who sends it -- about how He provides for plants and animals and even us. And we were reminded that even on the rainiest days, we can rejoice.
For I know that the LORD is great,
and that our Lord is above all gods.
Whatever the LORD pleases, he does,
in heaven and on earth,
in the seas and all deeps.
He it is who makes the clouds rise at the end of the earth,
who makes lightnings for the rain
and brings forth the wind from his storehouses. -- Psalm 135:5-7
This is the day that the LORD has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it. -- Psalm 118:24
Umbrellas are fun, but they're not the best photo props!

So sweet - that rainy day walk.
We've been to the Monterey Aquarium and have pictures in the clamshell with little ones. Only it wasn't with our kids, it was with my sister's youngest son who is 12(!) now.
Then we walked along cannery row and ate at Bubba Gumps when it was still newish. We even have pictures on the bench in front. What a fun place!
Could you send some of that rain and green, green grass our way? We are so ready for spring!
Rain! Oh I miss the rain. It's been very dry here in OK. Sammie has a matching set of ladybug rainboots, umbrella and raincoat and she loves using them any chance she gets! She wears the boots almost daily and last night she added the ladybug slicker to the outfit when we went out to dinner. No rain though, but if she's got the gear she might as well use it, right?
