Self-Service

Madeline is a busy girl of late. She races around the house (she's so much faster crawling than Kathleen was), exploring every inch of, well, everything. She pulls herself up to peer into drawers or shelves. If she can't pull up to it, she'll pull it down. She may well have a secret superpower -- I'm thinking Elasti-girl -- because her reach is practically inexplicable.

Her mobility and curiosity can be a bad combination, though. Everything that Madeline explores, she tastes. Everything. Jim and I joke that it's like having a dog. If Madeline can find it, she'll eat it. She munches on magazines and books. She tastes tissues and toys and utensils she pulls from the open dishwasher. This actually worked out well for her the other day, though, when I apparently wasn't serving breakfast early enough.

Madeline rummaged through the diaper bag...

Looking for snacks

And was rewarded with an open package of rice crackers... Yum!

Mission Accomplished

At least she was eating food!

At least you don't have a dog. Sophie helps herself to dogfood sometimes!

Ahhh yes...we called ours the Puppy Dog...and we had to stop when the eldest started calling him that, too!

It is the second child syndrome... Savannah was the same way... oh, wait, she still is... she is in to EVERYTHING! I think that the Lord knows that if he was to give us a go-giver with the first one that we would just be too tired to even think of having a second!
