Kathleen and I successfully made the trip from Oahu to Northern California... There were some stressful (and exhausting) moments, of course, but overall our journey was extraordinarily smooth.
Kathleen was very excited to be in the airport, as it was filled with fascinating people and giant windows for watching planes. She was equally excited to be on the airplane -- at least at first! We were blessed to have a seat for her, so she was strapped into her comfy carseat for all but maybe ten minutes of the flight. She napped for about an hour and a half (what a huge relief for Mama!), and played nicely with her toys for the rest of the trip. The biggest challenge was retrieving the toys that Kathleen dropped; it's getting more and more difficult to lean over my own stomach!
As smooth as the trip was, we were thrilled to get off the plane and find Grandma and Grandpa O'Connor waiting for us at baggage claim. (Reinforcements! Hooray! ) We're grateful to have had a safe trip and hope that we're equally blessed when we fly to Illinois next week.
